Cathlab
Cath Lab is an examination room in a hospital or clinic with diagnostic imaging equipment used to support the catheterization procedure. A number of cardiac diagnostic and therapeutic procedures can be performed in a catheterization laboratory. These typically include angiograms, percutaneous coronary interventions, closure of some congenital heart defects, treatment of stenotic heart valves, and pacemaker implantations.
In our Hospital Cath lab procedures are performed under local anesthesia. General anesthesia may often be necessary in small children in whom longer procedure times are anticipated. A coronary angiography is performed when our physician suspects the existence of coronary artery disease, a condition characterized by significant stenoses in the coronary arteries of the heart.
Hospital Center’s Catheterization Lab is one of the busiest and most experienced catheterization labs, routinely performing angioplasties, catheterizations, and other specialty procedures and techniques to help restore the pathway to the heart — open up clogged arteries, restore damaged vessels or valves, and remove damaging plaque.
The Patients of Eastcoast Hospital are managed with the most technologically advanced diagnostic tests, Imaging Equipments and treatments using angioplasty, stents, lasers, IVUS, angiogenesis, and gene therapy, among others.
